Hi Bill
Thanks for this great tutorial which I working my way through

I have a basic question though - I can't view the videos - all I get is a blank square surrounded by a thin border and in the top left-hand corner of this blank space is a small square symbol containing a triangle, a circle and another tiny red square

I assume that there is something on my browser that is bloking the video from appearing but what might that be and how can I correct it? Alternatively is there another explantion

Yours, frustrated

I used the squeeze page template to create pages for my site, and renamed them as needed, but when I open them up in Nvu, the tabs at the top of the page call them "Editable squeeze page training template" instead of the names I have given them, and when I view the site online, the bar at the top shows "Editable squeeze page . . . from Online business logic." Is there a way to remedy this, so the actual title that I have given the pages will show up?

Hi Bill
well done mate. I really enjoyed how simple you made that presentation with NVU. I have been looking for something for my team to use that is simple and I will be promoting what you have done.

I have a question though. How did you get the borders of your table? I mean the grayed out edges for the centre?

Would love to know how you did this.

Thanks again

Thanks for the great NVU tutorial and for the opportunity to ask questions / leave comments.

I'm having a problem uploading a template into NVU... could you please point me to some free templates that can be used with NVU as well as to how to upload them and modify them?

Thanks much!

Hi Jandreas

Thanks for your comment, gld you're finding some of this stuff useful.

Although this post was about Nvu as I was aiming it at beginners, or those on a low budget, it's not as powerful as a commercial package. Personally I use Dreamweaver which has excellent template features which I'm afraid you won't find in Nvu.

Your three options in this instance would be:

1. Upgrade to Dreamwearver
2. Make up a 'master' page and simply copy/paste the information you need and save as new files when you want to update (won't take long with only 6 pages!)
2. Use PHP includes. These are individual sections of PHP code which can actually just be echos of HTML. You then just include these in your pages, and when you need to update you only change the include page, and it updates across the whole site! Do a quick Google search for PHP tutrials and specifically includes and you should find lots of info - and that way you can stil use Nvu!

Cheers

Thanks for the Tutorial- it is very helpful.
But:
After knowing now how to actually fill/design a page I have a problem.
I want to do a 6 Page Web in 3 different languages and I shall have help to link it all together. But what I am doing now is -having one page designed I want to use it as a template for all the others.
I put header, list on the left and text right side.Store with its name.
Now I change the text and then store in Documents-Web- with the name of each page.Correct shown in program files after.
Now, if I open any of them with NVU they are all showing up with the name of the original page.So I fear I did s.t. wrong .
My idea was to have a "master page design" which is the base of all my different pages -Template? ( im Spanish sorry) and which can still be modified in 1 place , being this modification applied to all "sub pages" with different text.
That should be the way? I am just a autodidact and so this might be a very silly question. But I am looking forwards to further videos or text tutorials from U. I really want to understand.
And I thank U again for this Tutorial.
Greetings from the Mediterranean sea jandreas
